Kindergarten News

We are learning the process of how books are made. Books and the history of print is an incredible story that goes back centuries. We will look at how today's books are stitched together, how book sections make up the larger book, and a book may travel all over the world before and idea is finally a book. We will try our hand at stamping, writing, illustrating, and book binding.

Second Grade News

This week we will be looking at Web sites that have advertisement on them. All people deserve to make a living and some people even use Web sites to sell us things. But how do we know when things are good and how should I determine if something is just flashy advertisement or a really good product?

Third Grade News

Fourth Grade News

This week we are beginning scripting. To do this, we are diving into Python. Python is a flexible and beginner-friendly programming language. It uses some English and some other notation. We will start out with some easy programs and then move into some more practical applications like a calculator. 

Fifth Grade News

Part I - We are taking the school climate survey to gain a better understanding of how children feel at school. This survey ask children about peer interactions as well as teacher interactions. This survey is an important tool in learn if students feel safe and comfortable at school.

The Internet is like a big city. There are some wonderful resources but there are also areas and content that should be avoided. This is our next unit of study. This unit is a Federally mandated group of lessons aimed at keeping your children safe when they are using the Internet. This unit covers words that hurt, verifying sources, safety strategies, and digital citizenship. While this is not always the most interesting unit, it is highly important. Please review the content with your child and become familiar with the lesson objectives.
